Transfer Admissions (from higher professional school or junior college/from university) & Second Bachelor’s Degree admission

APU welcomes students who have gained valuable learning experiences at universities, junior colleges, and other higher education institutions in Japan and abroad, admitting them as second- or third-year students. We encourage motivated students who wish to further develop the knowledge and skills they have acquired through their previous studies at junior colleges or other universities in our diverse learning environment, where students from countries and regions around the world study together, and pursue active roles in the international community, including the Asia Pacific region.

  • Transfer Admissions (from Higher Professional School or Junior College)

    This admission is for applicants who have graduated from another educational institution/Higher professional school or Junior college/and are admitted to an advanced year of the bachelor’s degree program with credit granted for part of their previous studies.

  • Transfer Admissions (from University)

    This admission is for applicants who transfer from one university to another and enter an advanced year of the bachelor’s degree program with credit granted for part of their previous studies. Applicants who are currently enrolled in a four-year bachelor’s degree program and wish to transfer to APU at an advanced year are eligible under this admission category. Applicants who have withdrawn from their current university are not eligible to apply.

  • Second Bachelor’s Degree Admission

    This admission is for applicants who already hold a bachelor’s degree and enter APU as second- or third-year students.

〈For Second Year Transfer Applicants〉

Credits earned at the applicant’s previous university or institution will be recognized as credits toward APU’s degree program. For students entering APU as second-year students, up to 30 credits may be approved. The results of the credit approval process cannot be provided in advance. Successful applicants will be notified of the number of credits expected to be approved along with information regarding enrollment procedures. 〈For Third Year Transfer Applicants〉

Credits earned at the applicant’s previous university or institution will be approved as credits toward APU’s degree program. For students entering APU as third-year students, up to 62 credits may be recognized. The results of the credit approval process cannot be provided in advance. Successful applicants will be notified of the number of credits expected to be recognized along with information regarding enrollment procedures.
