AP HOUSE (On-Campus Housing)

Multicultural student dormitory that is home to about 1,600 students.

AP House is a student dormitory that is home to about 1,600 students from all around the world. International students who enroll at APU live in the dormitory next to the campus for their first year to learn the ways and customs of life in Japan. To support student growth, faculty and staff members are available on site in addition to Resident Assistants (RAs) recruited from the resident student body. RAs play the role of supporting house residents and promoting interaction and exchange.

Single and shared rooms are available. Shared rooms feature a sliding door in the middle to ensure each student’s privacy. Each room has a bed, refrigerator and internet access. There are communal kitchens, private shower facilities, clothes washers and dryers as well as computer rooms and communal lounges.

Resident Assistants (RAs)

Resident Assistants (RAs) are students who provide essential support to help students get used to the life in AP House. There are one to two RAs on each floor and they help new residents adjust to AP House life by explaining the House facilities and dormitory rules.

Exchange activities

In addition to daily life at AP House, there are many exchange programs. These include floor parties held on each floor, a dormitory entrance ceremony where new students are welcomed by the entire AP House community, and the World Festival, which allows students to experience the world.
