FAQ for teachers

  • One of my students is considering applying to APU. Could you tell me what types of admissions systems your university offers?
We provide an overview of our admissions systems in the Admissions Guide and on YouTube, so please take a look.
When the student actually applies, please make sure they check the Application Handbook and other relevant documents.
  • Regarding the academic transcript required for application, should we issue only one transcript even if the student applies multiple times?
Yes. Even if the student applies several times, issuing only one transcript is sufficient. During each application registration, there is an item called “Reusing academic transcripts and other documents.” From the second application onward, the student will need to select “Yes.”
  • I have a question about how to list course names on the academic transcript. Some of our school’s courses have original, school-specific names. Do we need to convert these to standard course names?
Yes. If your school uses original course names, please attach a comparison table that shows both the original and the corresponding standard course names (e.g., “Mathematics III” → “Global Science γ”), along with an official document stamped by the principal. The format is flexible.
    Please address the document to:
“Director, Admissions Office, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.”
  • A student has asked us to create a certificate for activities conducted at school. How should we prepare such a document?
Certificates of activities must meet the criteria for “Activities Eligible for Evaluation.” As long as these conditions are met, the format is flexible. For details, please refer to the Application Handbook or the Application and Examination Guide.
  • We discovered an error in a previously submitted academic transcript. May we resubmit a corrected version?
Yes. If key information such as the student’s name, GPA, issue date, date of birth, or graduation date is incorrect, please resend the corrected transcript.
