mpowering developing countries through the power of finance.
Ryosuke Onizuka
Graduated in 2012
After graduating, I joined a government-affiliated financial institution, where my responsibilities included conducting industry analysis of companies, monitoring financial institutions, and preparing reports on regional economies. At the time, the banking industry was being forced to rethink its business model due to large-scale monetary easing and negative interest rate policies. Through my involvement in a wide range of assignments, I came to rediscover that the true value of finance lies in delivering funds swiftly to those who need them most and ensuring that the funds are used effectively. Upon reaching the milestone of turning 30, I decided to take on the challenge of addressing financial issues overseas and made the decision to join JICA. Currently, I am working to resolve financial challenges in order to support the development of developing countries from a financial perspective. My future goal is to apply the experience and insights gained at JICA to addressing financial challenges in Japan. At APU, I was able to build a foundation for respecting diverse cultures and perspectives, as well as for promoting smooth communication and collaboration. These abilities are not merely skills; they serve as important guiding principles that help me determine the direction I should take at key turning points in my life.
