As someone who speaks four of South Africa’s 11 official languages, I have always been captivated by linguistic diversity. This passion for language and culture was a key factor in my decision to choose APU, a university known for its strong commitment to fostering a multicultural environment. APU’s emphasis on respect for diverse cultures creates a nurturing atmosphere where everyone feels valued and included. Since arriving at APU, I have become increasingly eager to share my culture and heritage. As a second year student in the College of Asia Pacific Studies, I am currently considering two potential majors: International Relations and Global Economics. Regardless of which path I choose, my goal is to bridge the gap between South Africa and the Asia Pacific. I want to build strong connections between countries and regions, support underserved communities, and contribute to creating a more interconnected world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
